Wallington County Grammar School

Key Dates for Year 7 Entry

On 2nd March 2020 (National Offer Day) you will receive notification from your Local Authority whether or not you have been successful in being offered a place at Wallington County Grammar School.

If your son has been offered a place at our School:

You will then be sent an offer pack from Wallington County Grammar School shortly after National Offer Day which will contain an offer letter and forms for you to complete. You must also always accept or decline any offer of a place with your Local Authority as well as informing the School.

Waiting List for Year 7

If your son reached the WCGS pass mark from the SET and listed our School as a preference on your CAF and if you were not offered a place at our School but you listed WCGS as a higher preference on your CAF than the offer you have been made by the Local Authority, then your son's details will be held on a ranked Year 7 waiting list.

Waiting list positions

Year 7 waiting list positions will only be available from the end of March 2020 and will be communicated to you every couple of months via email. Please do not contact the School to ask about waiting list positions between these communications. If your son reaches the top of this ranked waiting list and we have a vacancy we can offer you, the Admissions Officer Mrs Waters will endeavour to contact you by telephone to inform you. The ranked waiting list for Year 7 will stay in operation until the end of the Autumn term in 2020 (31st December 2020).

The amount of movement on waiting lists differs each year so it is almost impossible to predict whether your son is likely to be offered a place.

If you have not been offered a place at Wallington County Grammar School and wish to appeal against this decision, please refer to the Appeals section of this website for further information. We ask that Appeals please be lodged within 20 School days from National Offer Day please (so by Monday 30th March 2020) in order for all Year 7 appeals to be heard on the same day in the summer term.
